Bows by Zheng & Son

Mr Zheng & his son have a boutique workshop in Suzhou, China. They have been producing high quality bows, in relatively small batches for over 20 years.

With the new CITES regulations on Pernambuco in place, we started working with Mr Zheng to explore alternative materials. Using Green Sandalwood, which unlike both Pernambuco and Ipe, (both on Appendix II), they are producing bows that work and feel just as good as lesser priced European Pernambuco or Brazilian Ipe bows. The bows are available in both round and octagonal sticks. The selected sticks are graded into Nickel and Silver mountings, with AA grade being chosen for the English model bows; these bows are fitted with best quality ebony for the frog, silver face plate and simulated whale bone. The bows are branded Zheng & Sons.
