The Music Industries Association are delighted to announce the MIA Music Awards 2011. The awards have become a major celebration for the whole industry, honouring the best selling and most reliable and innovative products and retail initiatives in the UK and celebrating the top individuals and organisations within the musical instrument industry.
In what has been a challenging year for the
industry the MIA Music Awards will provide a much needed
opportunity to acknowledge the professionals and
organisations who continue to drive forward creativity
and innovation.
The awards ceremony,
supported by our media partners Classic FM, Future
Publishing and MIPro will take place at London's
prestigious Marriott Grosvenor Square Hotel on Wednesday
30 November 2011.

Bracknell & Wokingham Junior String Extravaganza held at
Holt School, Wokingham
Orchestral string
instrument distributor, The Sound Post Ltd, has
presented Berkshire Maestros with instruments and
accessories worth over six thousand pounds. Pictured
above are Justin Wagstaff a Director of the Wiltshire
based company and Philip Lichfield, Chief Executive of
Berkshire Maestros attending the presentation at
Bracknell Music Centre.
The sponsorship
arrangement was organised with the help of local
retailer Dawsons of Reading and similar opportunities
are now to be offered by The Sound Post to other Music
Services. Justin Wagstaff said ‘Working with Philip and
the Maestros has been a pleasure and has been the model
for us to branch out into similar partnerships in the
UK.
Talented students
cannot always afford to upgrade to higher quality
instruments so this kind of sponsorship is an example of
giving something back to help encourage the progressing
young musician.’
Philip Litchfield said: 'It is
essential for children who show real potential as
musicians to be able to play on quality instruments. We
are very grateful to the Soundpost for making these
instruments available to us.'
